Day 1; Welcome to Kampala
Welcome to Uganda! Your exciting 15 day wildlife and cultural safari begins soon as you arrive at Entebbe International Airport, the international entry point of the country. Once you’re greeted warmly by your guide you’ll be transported to your hotel, in Kampala, the capital city. Take some time to rest relax and get accustomed to the climate while preparing for the adventure that lies ahead.
Day 2; Exploring Kampalas Rich Culture
Dedicate your day to engaging yourself in the vibrant culture of Ugandas capital, Kampala, home to over 3 million people. Begin your tour with a visit to the Kasubi Tombs, a UNESCO World Heritage Site that serves as the resting place for four kings of the Buganda Kingdom. Afterward head over to the Uganda Museum. East Africas oldest museum. Which boasts a collection of artifacts showcasing Ugandas rich cultural heritage. To end this day filled with exploration on a note experience a captivating performance at Ndere Cultural Centre. Here you’ll have the opportunity to witness dances and songs from ethnic groups in Uganda.
Day 3; touring towards Jinja. The Niles Origin
begin on a tour, towards Jinja. Ugandas largest commercial city. This vibrant destination is renowned for being situated near the source of River Nile.
Known as the “Source of the Nile ” this magnificent river holds the title of being the longest, in the world. By taking a boat ride you can reach the spot where the Nile commences its 6,650 km tour towards the Mediterranean Sea. Immerse yourself in the towns history, which still echoes its past and indulge in its vibrant cultural scene.
Day 4; tour to Sipi Falls
Your stop will be at the Sipi Falls, nestled in the foothills of Mount Elgon—an extinct volcano and East Africas fourth highest peak. Comprising three cascades with one towering at a height of 100 meters Sipi Falls is a sight to behold. Take advantage of this opportunity to visit a Sabiny community and engage with its residents to gain insights into their traditional way of life.
Day 5 6; Exploring Kidepo Valley National Park and engaging in Karamojong Culture
Prepare yourself for a wilderness experience at Kidepo Valley National Park—one of Africas exceptional wildlife sanctuaries. This park boasts an array of wildlife species ranging from lions and elephants to elusive leopards and graceful giraffes. Notably it is also home to over 475 species of birds. During your stay you’ll have a chance to visit a Karamojong manyatta (homestead) and interact closely with this fascinating community known for their traditional cattle herding lifestyle and distinctive customs.
Day 7; Wildlife Expedition at Kidepo Valley National Park
Begin your day with an invigorating early morning game drive, across Kidepo Valley National Park—an opportunity to witness its wildlife up close.
This park covers an area of 1,442 kilometers and serves as a natural habitat, for over 77 species of mammals. Keep an eye out for creatures like lions, cheetahs, elephants, zebras and giraffes.
Days 8 9 begin on an adventure to Murchison Falls National Park.
This national park is the largest in Uganda spanning across 3,840 kilometers. It is intersected by the Nile River. Boasts an impressive diversity of wildlife with 76 mammal species and an astounding 451 bird species. Enjoy the thrill of a game drive and a captivating boat trip that takes you to the base of Murchison Falls—a waterfall that channels the Nile through a gap only 7 meters wide.
Day 10; Take a tour to Hoima
a town steeped in heritage as it stands at the core of the Bunyoro Kingdom—known to be one of Africas monarchies. Explore the palace of the Omukama (king). Immerse yourself in the captivating history and traditions upheld by the Bunyoro people.
Day 11; Transfer, to Fort Portal
Nestled beneath Africas mountain range, known as Rwenzori Mountains.In this itinerary you’ll have the opportunity to explore the captivating sites of the Tooro Kingdom, which’s one of Ugandas esteemed traditional monarchies. During your visit you will delve into the kingdoms history. Immerse yourself in its vibrant traditions.
Day 12; Safari to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
Continue your tour as you make your way to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, an UNESCO World Heritage Site that serves as a safe haven for approximately 400 mountain gorillas. This lush rainforest is also home to an array of wildlife including 120 species and over 350 species of birds.
Day 13; Gorilla Trekking Adventure in Bwindi
Prepare for an exciting encounter with nature as you begin on a thrilling gorilla trekking expedition in Bwindi. Get up close and personal with a mountain gorilla family. Gain insights into their daily lives within their natural habitat.
Day 14; Engage in Cultural Exchange with the Batwa Community
Immerse yourself in a exchange with the Batwa people affectionately known as “The Keepers of the Forest.” This extraordinary community has coexisted harmoniously with the forest for generations until it was designated as a park. Gain insights into their way of life their profound spiritual connection with nature and their resourceful survival skills.
Day 15; Return tour to Kampala. Visit Igongo Cultural Centre and Departure
Enjoy breakfast before begining on your return tour to Kampala. Along the way make a stop at Igongo Cultural Centre where you can learn more, about Ugandas heritage through exhibits. Finally bid farewell to this captivating land as you depart for your adventure.
During your tour make a stopover in Mbarara, which’s the town, in western Uganda. Take the opportunity to visit the Igongo Cultural Centre, where you can explore the cultures of Uganda through their museum and traditional homesteads. Afterward continue your travel, to Kampala. Finally arrive at Entebbe International Airport for your departure flight.
