8 Days Uganda Gorilla Trekking

Day 1: Arrival at Entebbe International Airport

Upon landing at Entebbe International Airport, our representative will greet you and take you to your hotel. Depending on your arrival time, you may choose to relax at the property or enjoy a quiet walk near Lake Victoria. Dinner and overnight at 2 Friends Hotel, Entebbe.

Day 2: Shoebill Viewing in Mabamba Swamp – Continue to Lake Mburo

After breakfast, head to Mabamba Swamp, a well-known area for spotting the rare shoebill stork. A guided canoe ride through the wetlands offers a peaceful and accessible way to enjoy birdlife and scenic surroundings. Later, continue your journey to Lake Mburo National Park, stopping for lunch and a break on the way. Arrive at your lodge in the late afternoon. Dinner and overnight at Mihingo Lodge.

Day 3: Wildlife Viewing & Gentle Walk in Lake Mburo

Start the day with an early game drive through Lake Mburo, where you can see zebras, impalas, giraffes, and other animals. Return for breakfast and some rest. Later in the afternoon, take a short, guided walk with a ranger. This relaxed walk allows you to observe animals on foot in areas that are both safe and suitable for all fitness levels. Dinner and overnight at Mihingo Lodge.

Day 4: Morning Drive – Travel to Bwindi Forest

Begin the day with a final wildlife drive before breakfast. Afterward, depart for Bwindi Forest. The drive is scenic, with stops for lunch and photo opportunities. You’ll reach your lodge in the evening, where you can settle in and enjoy the fresh air. Dinner and overnight at Four Gorillas Lodge or Gorilla Safari Lodge.

Day 5: Gorilla Viewing in Bwindi

After an early breakfast, head to the park headquarters for a full briefing. Senior guests are supported with porters and walking sticks, and the walk is managed at a pace comfortable for the group. Once the gorilla group is found, you’ll spend one hour observing their natural behaviors. Return to the lodge for lunch and a restful afternoon. Dinner and overnight at your Bwindi lodge.

Day 6: Day of Rest at the Lodge

This day is reserved for rest and quiet enjoyment of the forest setting. Optional short walks, cultural visits, or reading on the terrace are available. This break allows you to unwind and take in the natural environment. Dinner and overnight at your Bwindi lodge.

Day 7: Gorilla Habituation Experience

After an early breakfast, set out for a longer gorilla visit. This unique activity allows you to spend up to four hours with a group that is becoming used to humans. While the trek may take more time, it is managed with care, and porters are available to assist with the walk. Return in the afternoon for a quiet evening. Dinner and overnight at your Bwindi lodge.

Day 8: Travel to Entebbe by Road or Flight

After breakfast, return to Entebbe either by road, with breaks for lunch and sightseeing, or by scheduled domestic flight from Kisoro or Kihihi. Depending on your international flight, you may connect directly or relax in a day room before departure. End of tour.
