Day 1: Arrival at Entebbe International Airport
Upon arrival at Entebbe International Airport, a representative from our team will be there to greet you and accompany you to your hotel in either Kampala or Entebbe. Depending on your arrival time, you may choose to unwind at the hotel or enjoy a quiet evening walk in the surrounding area. Dinner and overnight at Latitude Hotel (Kampala) or 2 Friends Hotel (Entebbe).
Day 2: Rhino Viewing at Ziwa Rhino Reserve
Following a restful breakfast, begin your drive to Ziwa Rhino Reserve. Arrive in time for lunch and a short break. In the afternoon, take part in a ranger-led rhino viewing walk, a low-impact activity suitable for seniors. The area also supports other animals like antelopes and a wide variety of birdlife, making it a pleasant outing for nature lovers. Dinner and overnight at Ziwa Rhino Bandas.
Day 3: Transfer to Murchison Falls – View the Falls from Above
After breakfast at Ziwa, travel northwest to Murchison Falls National Park. You’ll arrive in the afternoon and visit the top section of the waterfall, where the Nile squeezes through a narrow rock passage. A short, guided walk allows for safe and scenic viewing points. Dinner and overnight at Paraa Safari Lodge.
Day 4: Wildlife Viewing & Nile River Boat Outing
Start your day with an early game drive across the park’s northern plains. This area is home to elephants, lions, giraffes, antelopes, and more. Return to the lodge for lunch and rest. In the afternoon, take a peaceful boat ride on the Nile River to the base of the falls. It’s an ideal activity for seniors, combining comfort with wildlife sightings including hippos, crocodiles, and birds. Dinner and overnight at Paraa Safari Lodge.
Day 5: Optional Fishing or Day at Leisure
Today offers a relaxed fishing activity on the Nile, supported by experienced guides and safety teams. All gear is provided. For those not interested in fishing, the lodge offers an opportunity for calm walks or a full day of rest surrounded by nature. Dinner and overnight at Paraa Safari Lodge.
Day 6: Drive to Kibale Forest National Park
After breakfast, begin your drive south toward Fort Portal, gateway to Kibale Forest. The route offers scenic views of rural landscapes and agricultural areas. Several stops are made for refreshments, photos, and lunch. Arrive at your lodge in the evening for dinner and overnight at Tabebuia Spa & Safari Resort or Papaya Lake Lodge.
Day 7: Chimpanzee Walk & Visit to Bigodi Wetland
After breakfast, head to the Kibale Forest headquarters for a well-guided walk in search of chimpanzees. Walking sticks and porters are available to assist. Once you locate the chimpanzees, enjoy an hour observing their playful movements and interactions. Return to the lodge for lunch and rest. In the afternoon, take a community-led walk through the Bigodi Wetland area, known for its variety of birds and cultural insights. Dinner and overnight at your lodge.
Day 8: Head to Queen Elizabeth National Park
After a relaxed breakfast, drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park. The journey passes crater lakes and offers distant views of the Rwenzori Mountains. Arrive in time for lunch at your lodge, followed by an evening wildlife drive in the Kasenyi section of the park. Dinner and overnight at Mweya Safari Lodge.
Day 9: Wildlife Viewing & Boat Cruise on the Kazinga Channel
Start the day with a morning game drive when animal activity is usually high. Return for breakfast and enjoy a slow-paced morning. After lunch, join a boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel, a favored activity for mature travelers, where you can easily observe hippos, buffaloes, elephants, and many bird species. Dinner and overnight at Mweya Safari Lodge.
Day 10: Optional Wildlife Research or Travel to Bwindi
After breakfast, choose between the following options:
- Join a Wildlife Research Team: Participate in an educational wildlife monitoring activity with park researchers, focusing on big cats in the area.
- Drive to Bwindi Forest: Prefer a slower day? Take a gentle drive through Ishasha, known for tree-climbing lions, en route to Bwindi.
Arrive in Bwindi by afternoon. Dinner and overnight at Four Gorillas Lodge or Mahogany Springs Lodge.
Day 11: Gorilla Tracking in Bwindi Forest
After breakfast, head to the park headquarters for a pre-trek briefing. Porters and walking sticks are available, and the trek is paced for comfort. When the gorilla group is found, spend an hour observing their behavior and daily routines. Return to the lodge for a relaxed evening and farewell dinner. Overnight at your Bwindi lodge.
Day 12: Fly to Entebbe – Departure
After breakfast, transfer to either Kisoro or Kihihi airstrip for your scheduled flight to Entebbe. This short flight makes the return more convenient. Depending on your international flight schedule, you may either connect directly or rest at a hotel before your evening departure.
