Gorilla Forest Lodge

Gorilla Forest Lodge holds a distinction that no other accommodation in the Bwindi gorilla circuit can claim: it is the only lodge actually located inside Bwindi Impenetrable National Park itself. Every other property in the area, however close to the forest boundary it may be, sits outside the park. Gorilla Forest Lodge sits within it, surrounded on all sides by the ancient and ecologically irreplaceable forest that is home to the largest population of mountain gorillas remaining on Earth. The difference is not merely a marketing point: it defines the entire atmosphere of a stay. The forest sounds begin at dawn, the forest light filters through the trees throughout the day, and the sense of being genuinely embedded in one of Africa's most extraordinary wild places is sustained from the moment of arrival to the moment of departure.

Eight forest suites are individually positioned among the trees, each designed to blend with the natural environment while providing the full facilities of a luxury lodge. The architecture uses natural materials including local timber, stone, and thatch, with large windows and open spaces that draw the forest inside. Each suite has a private veranda looking directly into the trees, where forest birds, primates, and the ambient movement of the forest are constantly visible. The communal areas of the lodge are built around a central raised building that houses a restaurant, bar, and lounge with exceptional forest views.
