Day 1; Arrival in Kigali, Rwanda

Upon your arrival at Kigali International Airport our friendly guide will warmly welcome you. You’ll then be transferred to your hotel in Kigali. Take some time to relax and get accustomed to the surroundings. If you arrive enough you can explore the city. Visit the Kigali Genocide Memorial to gain insights into Rwandas history.

Day 2; Nyungwe Forest National Park. Canopy Walk and Bird Photography

After a breakfast we’ll begin on a drive to Nyungwe Forest National Park – a sanctuary for primates and various bird species. In the afternoon prepare for an awe inspiring canopy walk above the forest canopy itself. This unique perspective offers opportunities, for photography as you capture birdlife from an elevated viewpoint.

Day 3; Nyungwe Forest National Park. Chimpanzee Trekking

Today you have a chance to track and photograph chimpanzees in their environment. Accompanied by guides you will venture into the forest to observe these primates. Capture their antics, expressions and the beautiful backdrop of the dense forest.

Day 4; Exploring Nyungwe Forest National Park. Searching for Colobus Monkeys and Photographing Waterfalls

begin, on a thrilling trek to encounter the Colobus monkeys renowned for their striking black and white fur. Take captivating photographs of these creatures against the greenery of the forest. Later visit waterfalls in the park, such as Kamiranzovu and Irebero where you can capture the cascading beauty amidst tranquil surroundings.

Day 5; tour to Volcanoes National Park

After enjoying a breakfast begin on a drive towards Volcanoes National Park, which is home to majestic mountain gorillas. Relish in the landscapes and rural villages as you make your way. Upon arrival at your lodge within Volcanoes National Park take some time to relax and prepare for a gorilla trekking experience awaiting you on the day.

Day 6; Gorilla Trekking Adventure in Volcanoes National Park

Today marks an moment of your primate safari as you set off on an exciting gorilla trekking expedition. Accompanied by trackers and knowledgeable guides venture into the forest, in search of a gorilla family.. Capture moments, emotions and interactions, within the family in their natural habitat. Take an hour to photograph these creatures as they roam freely.

Day 7; Trekking with Golden Monkeys and engaging in Culture

begin on a trek to spot the golden monkeys known for their playful behavior. Capture their movements amidst the bamboo forests. In the afternoon dive into Rwandan culture by visiting a village where you can photograph dances and engage with the local community.

Day 8; Departure

After a breakfast bid farewell to Volcanoes National Park and return to Kigali. If time permits, explore markets for souvenirs. Later you’ll be transferred to Kigali International Airport for your departure flight concluding your incredible 8 day Rwanda primate safari and photography adventure.
