Daily schedule flights to Bwindi are available for clients who wish to spend less time on the road and yet want to enjoy the gorilla tracking experience. It saves one from the 9/10 hours of driving from Entebbe to Bwindi and with the flight is only 1 hour then 1 hour or 1.5 hours from the airstrip to your choice of accommodation in Bwindi park.
Catch one of our daily scheduled flights to Kihihi and Kisoro airstrips to trek the mountain gorillas in Bwindi. We have the morning flights, mid-morning and afternoon flights. Kisoro flights are strictly in the morning and subject to the prevailing weather condition.
Day 1: Fly on a scheduled (daily) flight to Kihihi or Kisoro airstrip
Upon arrival at Kihihi or Kihihi , you’ll be met by a Insight safari Holidays representative and driven to your accommodation. There are a variety of optional activities that can be done if time permits or you can simply have a relaxed afternoon at your lodge.
Day Two: Gorilla tracking day
Following breakfast at the lodge, travel to Bwindi Park Headquarters to meet your guides for the day and begin your gorilla tracking experience. Experienced guides and trackers from the Uganda wildlife Authority will accompany your party on this morning trek into the dense rainforest on the mountain slopes. The trackers and guides accompanying you will keep an eye on everyone in the group and do go out of their way to ensure that everyone has the chance for a few clean shots. The trackers will also help to track the gorillas from the point they were last seen the previous day to locate the night nests, and then on to where they are now. This means a lot more hiking but a rewarding and lifetime experience of viewing mountain gorillas in their natural habitat. You will have an opportunity to be within meters of these magnificent apes, sharing in their daily lives and experiencing their day-to-day activities. Mountain gorillas are extremely rare with only an estimated 880 remaining in the wild. This is an experience you won’t soon forget!
Following the trek, return to the lodge and, depending on your energy levels and time, you may begin on a guided nature walk or take community walk.
Day Three : End Of Safari
Breakfast at transfer to the airstrip for your return flight to Entebbe. Bwindi Forest National Park and travel to Kihihi for your return flight to Entebbe. End of 3 days fly in gorilla safari!
