6 Days Birding in Uganda

Day 1; Arrival, at Entebbe

When you arrive at Entebbe International Airport, our representative will warmly welcome you. They will then transfer you to your accommodation in the city of Entebbe. After your tour take some time to rest and unwind. If you arrive enough you can even explore the Entebbe Botanical Gardens, which are famous for their birdwatching opportunities. Enjoy a dinner. Spend the night in Entebbe.

Day 2; Exploring Mabamba Wetland and Lake Mburo National Park

After a breakfast we’ll head to Mabamba Wetland, situated on the shores of Lake Victoria. This area is renowned for its Shoebill Stork population well as a wide variety of other bird species. Get ready for a birding experience as we take an excursion through the swampy areas in search of these fascinating creatures. Keep an eye out for herons, kingfishers, jacanas and more water loving birds.

In the afternoon we’ll continue our adventure towards Lake Mburo National Park. Once we arrive and settle into our accommodations near the park take some time to relax and soak up the ambiance.

Day 3; Birdwatching in Lake Mburo National Park

Today is about engaging ourselves in the avian world of Lake Mburo National Park—a haven for bird enthusiasts, like yourself! This park boasts a range of bird species that will surely captivate your senses.
Discover the habitats of savannahs, woodlands and wetlands which serve as a haven, for over 300 species of birds. Keep an eye out for birds like the African Finfoot, Fish Eagle, Red faced Barbet Crested Francolin and many others.

Immerse yourself in a thrilling game drive within the park grounds, where you can also spot wildlife such as zebras, impalas, buffaloes and giraffes. As the day winds down return to your lodge for a dinner and a restful overnight stay.

Day 4; tour from Lake Mburo National Park to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest

After enjoying a breakfast begin on an approximately 4 5 hour drive to reach Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park – a birding paradise. Along the way relish views of the countryside. Upon arrival at your accommodation near the park area settle in comfortably.

During the afternoon hours take a stroll around your lodge. Explore nearby birding spots where you’ll have opportunities to encounter various species of forest dwelling birds. Bwindi boasts an array of birdlife including species like the African Green Broadbill,
Shelleys Crimsonwing,
African Emerald Cuckoo
and many others. Savor a dinner. Enjoy a peaceful overnight stay in Bwindi.

Day 5; Delight, in Birdwatching at Bwindi Impenetrable Forest

Today is dedicated entirely to indulging in birdwatching amidst the captivating beauty of Bwindi Impenetrable Forest.
Join a guided birding excursion, through the forest accompanied by guides who will assist you in spotting and identifying the bird species. Bwindi is renowned for its birding opportunities boasting a count of over 350 recorded bird species, including 23 exclusive to the Albertine Rift region. Keep an eye out for captivating birds like the African Pitta, Handsome Francolin, African Wood Owl and various other sought after species.

During the afternoon take the chance to explore birding spots or participate in activities such as visiting local communities or begining on a nature walk. In the evening reflect upon your birding encounters while savoring a farewell dinner.

Day 6; Bid Farewell to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. Departure from Entebbe

After enjoying breakfast say goodbye to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest as you commence your tour back to Entebbe. Arrival in Entebbe is expected during afternoon or evening hours when you will be transferred to Entebbe International Airport for your departure. This marks the conclusion of your birding experience, in Uganda.
