Day 1; Arrival, in Nairobi
Upon your arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, our representative will warmly welcome you. Transfer you to your hotel in Nairobi for a stay overnight.
Day 2; Nairobi to Castle Forest Lodge
After enjoying a breakfast you will begin on a drive towards Castle Forest Lodge, which is beautifully nestled on the southern slopes of Mount Kenya. Take some time to acclimate yourself to the surroundings and indulge in leisurely nature walks amidst the beauty of the area.
Day 3; Castle Forest Lodge to Urumandi Hut
begin on a hike through the enchanting rainforest along the Kamweti route. Keep your eyes peeled as you may have the chance to spot elephants, majestic buffalos and other fascinating wildlife along your tour towards the Urumandi Hut (altitude; 2,800m) where you will spend a night.
Day 4; Urumandi Hut to Hyrax Hill Camp
After a breakfast continue your ascent through enchanting bamboo forests and into the captivating moorland zone. Your destination, for today is the Hyrax Hill Camp (altitude; 3,500m). This exciting trek of 6 7 hours allows opportunities to marvel at Mount Kenyas unique flora and fauna.
Day 5; From Hyrax Hill Camp we’ll start our day early in an attempt to reach Point Lenana (4,985m) before sunrise.
If the weather permits you’ll be treated to an inspiring sunrise, over the vast African plains. On we’ll make our way down to Mackinders Camp (4,200m) for a deserved dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 6; After enjoying a breakfast at Mackinders Camp we’ll begin our descent via the Naro Moru route towards the park gate.
Your transfer vehicle will be ready. Waiting for you there. We’ll then head back to Nairobi marking the end of this adventure. If time allows you may even have the chance to explore the city or do some souvenir shopping before making your way to the airport for your tour.
Please keep in mind that successful acclimatization can vary from person to person so it’s important not to underestimate the difficulty of this itinerary. This climb is ideally suited for individuals with a level of fitness and some prior experience, with trekking.
