Day 1; Arriving in Kampala
When you arrive at Entebbe International Airport your guide will be there to welcome you and take you to your hotel, in Kampala. Take the rest of the day at your pace whether its relaxing after your tour or exploring the capital city of Uganda.
Day 2; Exploring Kampala’s Cultural Highlights
Start your day with a visit to the Kabakas Palace, which’s the residence of the Buganda king. After that head over to the Kasubi Tombs, an UNESCO World Heritage Site where four Buganda kings are buried. Following lunch spend your afternoon at the Ndere Cultural Centre enjoying music and dance performances.
Day 3; tour from Kampala to Mbarara – Discovering Igongo Cultural Center
After breakfast set off for Mbarara in Uganda. Along the way make a stop at the Equator line for some photo opportunities. Once you reach Mbarara delve into the culture and history of Ankole people by visiting the Igongo Cultural Center. Explore their museum. Savor a traditional Ankole meal.
Day 4; Heading to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park from Mbarara
In the morning begin on a tour towards Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, known as home, to endangered mountain gorillas. Enjoy landscapes as you pass through rural Ugandan villages and lush plantations along the way.
Once you arrive at the park take some time to relax at your lodge and get ready, for the gorilla trekking adventure planned for the day.
Day 5; Exploring Bwindi through Gorilla Trekking
Kickstart your day with a breakfast before begining on an exciting gorilla trek. Skilled rangers will guide you through this thrilling experience. When you locate a gorilla family spend an hour observing these creatures in their habitat – an absolutely unforgettable encounter.
Day 6; engaging in Batwa Culture in Bwindi
Dedicate a day to engaging yourself in the culture of the Batwa indigenous people of the forest. Learn about their way of life as hunter gatherers and how they coexisted with both the forest and its diverse wildlife. Enjoy captivating dances and songs performed by the Batwa community. Perhaps find unique crafts to bring back home as souvenirs.
Day 7; Returning to Kampala and Departure
After a fulfilling breakfast begin your tour back to Kampala. If time permits, consider stopping by Mbarara for lunch and exploring markets where you can find some souvenirs. Upon arrival in Kampala you will be transferred to Entebbe International Airport for your departure flight marking the end of your enriching seven day safari in Uganda. This tour offers a blend of wildlife encounters and cultural immersion that will leave you with an appreciation, for Uganda’s people and their rich heritage.
