9 Days Birding Adventure Tanzania

Day 1; Arrival, in Arusha

When you arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport in Arusha, Tanzania our representative will warmly greet you. Escort you to your accommodation. Take some time to relax and get accustomed to the surroundings.

Day 2 – 3; Exploring Arusha National Park

Kickstart your birdwatching adventure by visiting Arusha National Park, which is situated near the city of Arusha. Explore the parks range of habitats, including forests, grasslands and Momella Lakes that attract various bird species. Keep an eye out for birds like Hartlaubs Turaco, Fish Eagle and the rare Schalows Turaco. Enjoy guided walks and game drives as you search for the parks feathered residents.

Day 4 – 5; Discovering Lake Manyara National Park

begin on a tour to Lake Manyara National Park renowned for its birdlife and intriguing tree climbing lions. Spend two days engaging yourself in the parks habitats such as the lake itself woodlands and grasslands. Keep a lookout for captivating bird species like Pink backed Pelican, African Spoonbill and Yellow billed Stork. Additionally Lake Manyara is famous for its flamingo populations—offering an opportunity for avid birdwatchers.

Day 6 – 7; Serengeti National Park Exploration

Make your way, to Serengeti National Park—a world destination known for its breathtaking savannah landscapes and thriving wildlife populations.
The park is well known for its mammals. Its also a place, for birdwatching. Spend two days exploring the parks habitats, such as grasslands, acacia woodlands and river areas. Keep an eye out for bird species like the Secretary Bird, Kori Bustard and the Lilac breasted Roller. The Serengeti is home to a range of birds providing opportunities for bird enthusiasts.

Day 8; Ngorongoro Crater Birding Safari

On Day 8 wrap up your birdwatching adventure with a visit to the Ngorongoro Crater—an UNESCO World Heritage Site in Africa. Explore the crater floor that hosts bird species, including waterbirds near the craters lake. Look out for captivating birds such as the Grey Crowned Crane, African Jacana and the Greater Flamingo. Enjoy the awe inspiring scenery and abundant wildlife that this crater has to offer.

Day 9; End Of Birding Safari

This marks your departure from Tanzania after enjoying breakfast. Bid farewell to this country as you make your way back, to Kilimanjaro International Airport.
