Day 1; Arrival, in Nairobi
When you arrive at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport in Nairobi our representative will warmly greet you. Take you to your accommodation. Take some time to relax and get used to the environment.
Day 2 – 3; Exploring Nairobi National Park and its surroundings
Kickstart your birding adventure by visiting Nairobi National Park, which’s outside the city. Discover the parks habitats like grasslands, wetlands and acacia woodlands that’re home to more than 500 bird species. Keep an eye out for birds such as the Secretary Bird, Martial Eagle and the endangered African Crowned Crane. On explore popular birding spots in the Nairobi area like the Nairobi National Museum or the Nairobi National Botanic Garden.
Day 4 – 6; Lake Naivasha and Hells Gate National Park
begin on a tour to Lake Naivasha, a beautiful freshwater lake situated in the Great Rift Valley and a paradise for birdwatchers. Spend three days exploring this lake and its surrounding areas. Enjoy a boat safari on the lake where you can spot waterbirds including Fish Eagles, Grey headed Gulls and Great White Pelicans. Don’t miss out on exploring Hells Gate National Park renowned for its rock formations as well, as diverse avian species.
Be, on the lookout for bird species like the African Jacana, Malachite Kingfisher and the African Fish Eagle.
Days 7 – 9; Lake Nakuru National Park
begin on a tour to Lake Nakuru National Park renowned for its flamingo population and diverse range of bird species. Take three days to explore the parks captivating birding hotspots. Enjoy exciting game drives along the lake, where you can catch glimpses of flamingoes elegant pelicans and various other waterbirds. Don’t forget to keep your eyes peeled for the endangered Rothschilds Giraffe and the elusive African Leopard. Additionally be amazed by species such as the Marabou Stork, Yellow billed Stork and Verreauxs Eagle that call this park home.
Days 10 – 12; Aberdare National Park and Mount Kenya
Venture onward to Aberdare National Park, a region renowned for its birdlife. Immerse yourself in two days exploring the parks enchanting forests in search of remarkable species like the Aberdare Cisticola, Jacksons Francolin and Scarlet tufted Sunbird. Following that adventure is an exploration of Mount Kenya itself – Kenyas peak. Delve into the slopes of this mountain where you will encounter extraordinary birds such as Tacazze Sunbird, Mountain Greenbul and Alpine Chat.
Days 13 – 15; Maasai Mara National Reserve
Conclude your birding tour with a visit, to one of our world treasures – Maasai Mara National Reserve.The Mara is famous, for its wildlife. Its also an amazing place for birdwatching. Take three days to explore the reserve going on game drives to spot raptors, grassland birds and wetland species. Keep an eye out for birds like the Secretary Bird, Kori Bustard and the beautiful Lilac breasted Roller. The Mara River is a haven for waterbirds too making it a perfect spot for birdwatchers.. Of course don’t miss the breathtaking migration of wildebeest and zebras.
On Day 16; Departure
Enjoy a breakfast before saying goodbye to Kenya and heading back to Nairobi. If your flight schedule allows, you might have some time to indulge in some last minute birdwatching or souvenir shopping. Our representative will then accompany you to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport in time, for your departure.
